This documentary takes us on a fishing adventure along the beaches of western France, where we will discover this fully-fledged fishing technique: surf-casting. We will discover with our stakeholders that this technique of fishing at sea requires a good knowledge of the behavior of fish, but also of their habitat and the marine environment in general. This effective fishing which consists in throwing in the waves, several tens of meters in the rollers, to hook the fish which come to feed near the edge, obliges the fisherman to move regularly in order to follow the flow of the tide. Once the line is stretched, the rod is held vertically on a support. And the fisherman, attentive, scrutinizes the slightest touch of fish that is perceived at the level of the tip. We will leave with our speakers to discover the species populating the coast of western France. Like sea bass, sea bream, lean, cod, and flat fish such as sole, flounder, turbot, plaice or flounder.
