From the vast blue expanse of the Pacific Ocean springs a hundred volcanic islands, French Polynesia, the land of the Maohi. Spirituality is an integral part of Polynesian life. At the end of the 18th century, with the arrival of the first Protestant missionaries from England, the Maohi discovered the Gospel. More than 200 years later, Maohi Protestants strive to reconcile their faith in Christ with their culture, their identity, their land, and the fruits of their ancestral traditions.
