For several years now, numerous press articles relayed by prime-time television programmes have been telling us about a particularly intriguing phenomenon in the city of Limoges: galloping prostitution, the invasion of pavements and squares, the massive arrival of girls from the East, African girls, young, not so young, unattractive or more beautiful.

There is no apparent sign of imbalance, of profound change, of a municipal cataclysm likely to lead to this attraction towards prostitutes and clients in the heart of the city and on its periphery. Should we therefore look elsewhere for a rational explanation? This documentary proposes to investigate the subject, based on the reality on the ground but also on the history of the proposal in Limoges, the tradition of brothels in this city, its geographical situation, the manna or the peasant misery, the memory of the garrisons…
