This program is an exceptional document that allows us to experience – or relive – the last great jubilee of Puy-en-Velay, one of the oldest in Christendom after the one in Jerusalem and the one in Rome, which takes place each time that the date of March 25, feast of the Annunciation and the Incarnation of the Word in the blessed womb of the Virgin Mary, coincide with Good Friday. An event that only occurs two or three times a century. A rare event if there is one: the next jubilee will take place in 2157.

An unprecedented program that also features the great feast of the Assumption of the Virgin, during which, every August 15, the Black Madonna is carried in procession, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and visitors. A magnificent film, shot in a setting steeped in history in one of the most beautiful towns in France, Puy-en-Velay, which we are definitely right to call “the city of the Virgin”.
