The Gorges du Verdon, between the Sainte Croix lake and the Esparon dam, saw the first inhabitants of the Alpes de Haute Provence settle. In half a century of research, more than sixty archaeological sites have been discovered and excavated in the Verdon. They delivered thousands of objects, flint tools, arrowheads, pieces of ceramic, as well as many animal bones and a few rare human bones.
The film takes us to meet our very distant ancestors, accompanied by those who have dedicated their lives to explore, excavate, analyze, interpret small pieces of bone, shards of stone, traces of long-extinguished fires, these fragile and so moving testimonies of the life of those who preceded us on this earth.
